ROAR!
i screwed up my chinese A levels. i really really did. when i got back my results slip... the feeling of disgust and contempt just hit me like a tidal wave. on the exterior i was numb- a blank; but inside of me disappointment loomed, it lingered there... overruling over all other emotion, just hanging there, like a dark cloud, a threatening thunderstorm.
needless to say my reputation of being an ambitious domineering workaholic kan choing freak precedes me... and naturally, i was unhappy. VERY, VERY unhappy. i aim high. only to let myself down time and time again. but this. this was unacceptable. beyond my lowest of the low expectations.
i'm still contemplating the option of re-taking the paper. OK. so i didn't fail.. but i wanted like, a good grade. who wouldn't? i mean, i've got friends who got E, and they're over the moon.
BUT I'M NOT THEM.
ironically, the correlation between those who are in the differentiated programme for GP and those who didnt do so well per se for chinese is a direct one.
this is so sad. I REFUSE TO BE PART OF THE MASSES! :(
sigh. i really dunno. would the opportunity cost of re-taking the paper be higher than the potential rewards?
on one hand, i may regret not trying. on the other, the idea of more chinese lessons, the fact that i haven't touched chinese in about 5 months , and the possibility of me screwing up again is reason enough to not bother.
afterall, according to MOE website, i don't have to count chinese in the computation for grades required for university entry...
from moe website:
Computation of 'A' Level results component
For the 'A' Level results component, the best four content subjects (ie. 3 H2 and 1 H1 content subjects, with at least 1 content subject to be from a contrasting discipline) and either the GP or KI grade taken in the same sitting will be considered. The maximum points for H2 and H1 subjects are 20 and 10 respectively. This will provide a maximum attainable score of 90 points for the A Level component.
The best MT subject grade (e.g. 'H1' MT or 'O' Level higher MT) will be considered only if the candidate provides the result for consideration. The University will include it in the scoring only if it raises the University Score of the candidate.
Please note that though it is not mandatory to include the MT results in the computation of the University Score, you are required to meet the minimum requirements for MT as stipulated above
but the thing is.
THE CERT WILL LOOK SO BLOODY UGLY!
you know, i seriously think i should just quit school and make babies and make the govenment happy. i'll probably be much happier too.
see? everyone will be happy.
omg. that's so brave new world! 'everybody's happy nowadays' haha...
but seriously, everyone should just quit school and work and have sex and produce lots and lots of offspring :D(except, the government will probably also complain that there'll be a lack of economic development) sigh. PAP. what do you want?
slog our asses of at work? or to get it on?
to hope for the best of both worlds is naive. everyone knows that.
any comments?
ha.
life is so shit sometimes...
